Competitor Google reviews — what their patients really say

For a dental practice, Google reviews are the number-one channel — patients pick a dentist by what other patients say long before they look at a single post. Link a competing practice’s Google Business Profile and the app reads their public reviews so you see the real picture: the rating trend, the recurring praise, and the complaints that are openings for you.

How to use it

On a competitor’s page, find the Google section and paste the link to their Google Business Profile (open Google Maps, find the practice, copy the link). The app pulls recent reviews and refreshes them on its own — dental reviews trickle in slowly, so this is set-and-forget.

The Google insights card sorts the noise into what patients love, what they complain about, and where the practice is weak. A short line under the title tells you how many reviews the read is based on and when it last refreshed, so you know how much signal it had. Pay special attention to unanswered questions in reviews — a patient asking “do you offer payment plans for implants?” with no reply is demand the practice is ignoring and you can claim.

All captured reviews sit in a scrollable list, and Show 50 more from Google reaches deeper into their history when you want the fuller picture. Each review names its writer — a Local Guide tag and a review-count badge tell you how seasoned that reviewer is, so a complaint from someone with 200 reviews behind them carries more weight than a one-off. Their listing photos sit just below.

Why complaints matter more than the rating

A 4.8 average hides the texture. A run of “the wait was over an hour” or “nobody explained the quote before treatment” tells you exactly where a competitor is frustrating patients — and gives you a concrete promise to lead with that they can’t.

Worked example

Dr. Nok links Bangkok Smile’s Google Business Profile. The insight card surfaces a pattern: praised on results, rough on communication — three recent reviews mention unanswered messages, and several ask about implant pricing and payment plans with no reply. She leads her next week of posts with “we answer every enquiry within the hour” and a clear, no-surprises pricing promise — winning on exactly the gap their patients keep flagging.
